Quarterly Essay launch – Katharine Murphy in conversation with David Marr

Please join us to celebrate a very special event in Roaring Stories 2022 events calendar: the launch of the December issue of Quarterly Essay. Called Lone Wolf: Albanese and the New Politics, the issue features an extraordinary piece of writing on Australia’s current government and the future direction of the nation, written by the Guardian‘s political editor, Katherine Murphy.

Murphy will be in conversation on the topics and insights covered in her piece with David Marr, one of Australia’s most respected journalists, a reporter for Four Corners, and a presenter of ABC TV’s Media Watch. Expect a rigorous, deeply knowledgable and highly engaging discussion: a must for all political pundits and engaged citizens!

Copies of QE88 Lone Wolf: Albanese and the New Politics will be available for purchase at the venue through Roaring Stories, with Murphy signing copies after the discussion.

Attendees are asked to arrive at 6.30pm or earlier for a 7pm start at White Bay Beer Co. Seating is unallocated – another reason to arrive early to secure an optimal spot!

The bar opens 6pm and closes at 9.30pm on the night of the event. Settle in and grab a drink before or after, with an incredible range of locally brewed beers and other beverages to enjoy. There’ll be plenty of delicious food available too thanks to special event caterer Agape, so why not make a full evening of it and come for dinner too? You can order before or after the event.

If you miss out on a ticket, you can still watch the event as it is livestreamed from the Roaring Stories Facebook page (accessible on the Home page and from the Live tab). A recording will also be available to view later as an upload on the Roaring Stories YouTube channel.
